How it began

Realising that standard travel insurance excludes any person travelling for a medical or cosmetic reason, Leila’s aim was to provide a cover for any person wishing to have any type of surgery abroad – ensuring they are safe and fully covered at al times.

In October 2008 Leila launched Angelis Insurance, the world's first travel policy to provide cover for people going abroad for Medical, Cosmetic & Dental treatment.

Angelis is the first company to provide a travel policy designed specifically to cover treatment abroad and a 12 month protection for patients should their treatment be unsuccessful, whilst also providing the benefits of standard travel insurance. The Angelis travel policy not only removes 'medical travel exclusions' found in standard insurance policies, but also covers eventualities unique to medical travel, such as extra medication, prolonged stays or patients having to return abroad.
